In a linear economy, “end-of-life” means disposal.

In a circular economy, “end-of-life” becomes “new beginnings”—where products are:

• Refurbished for resale
• Recycled into raw materials
• Repurposed into something entirely new
   

This reduces the need for virgin resource extraction and lowers greenhouse gas emissions.

• Rethink – Design and choose products with sustainability in mind.
   
• Refuse – Avoid products that create waste or harm the environment.
   
• Reduce – Use fewer resources and minimize unnecessary consumption.
   
• Reuse – Extend product life by using items again for the same or new purposes.
   
• Repair – Fix broken products rather than discarding them.
   
• Recycle – Process used materials into new products.
   
• Recover – Reclaim energy or materials from waste that can’t be recycled.
